I recently visited this restaurant for the first time in years. I ordered the three piece fish and chicken combo with jumbo shrimp. The food was great, it came out hot, was seasoned well and the service was great. Angie, who took our order knew the menu like that back of her hand and made some recommendations on the food, she even convinced us to try taffy grapes which we've never had or heard of. The food was so good we actually came back the next day and tried the Italian beef and shrimp. Again, the food was great! It took maybe 15-20 minutes to prepare. The food is reasonably priced, great service and great food.

Pleasantly surprised, found while looking for something else, wasn't very busy on a weekday. A really long menu of deep-fried delights, fish, shrimp, chicken, vegetables. By the piece, quantity of plate dinner. Had 3 huge cat filets, the plate came with fries, slaw, bread, and a soda. Operator friendly and helpful. Has a "secret seasoning" on the fish (optional) that I liked a lot, reminded me of Chinese "pepper/salt" seafood dishes. I'll go back when I'm in the area.

Great service and great food. Support local businesses and get your lunch/dinner from here! Their chicken wings are whole wings! And the fries is one of a kind, it has some sort of breading? So tasty. They also make their own coleslaw and comes with the meal. It's more of a take out place but it also has seats if you wish to dine in.

Catfish fillets are so good here. They used to have this wing & fillet combo with fried for $20 that could feed at least 4 people. The best deal ever. Me and my friends used to order that combo tray all the time. They always answered their phone when calling ahead to order. Never had to wait. Service was fast. This place is very small. About 5 booths. The booths are old and not the best. The place is slightly dirty. Kinda like a hole in the wall joint.

I was somewhat skeptical when I read on the menu that the fish was farm raised, and info was not given on the menu concerning if the chicken was free range, factory raised, farm raised, or organic. Being I'm in Rockford and not back home in Atlanta I didn't bother asking being most restaurants I have frequented since I have been in town look at your crazy when you ask such questions. At any rate I ordered a fish combo ( 2 catfish fillets with 4 chicken wings, fries, coleslaw, and bread). my order took about 20 minutes, not bad at all, lets me know my order was cooked fresh. Everything tasted great, seasoned to perfection and fried perfectly. The portions for the fish and chicken were nice big portions. The price for the combo considering the portions was AWESOME. I only have one complaint one piece of bread is not enough for all the food they serve for the combo meal I selected. I would recommend this restaurant to others looking for good fish/chicken dinner.

Was on vacation with my family & in search for some good homemade fried fish. Surprise to find a J J fish franchise nearby our Hotel. Located in an revitalizing area of Rockford,the building was clean & inviting with its sit down courtyard area. I would add more outdoor bistro type seating & some foliage to compliment the look. My husband & I called in our order & the service was impeccable! The food was hot & fresh ;not so greasy as other fish joints in Chicago. I also like that he didn't assume we wanted lemon pepper shaken on our food after it was cook like most franchises do (you use the season prior to frying not after: I guess it's an ethnic thing): The lime slices were a plus!!! The owner was very professional & friendly!
